The plantings at the Silver Lake Public Library need some TLC and the Time Bank Garden Group is here to help. We’ll trim lower branches of trees, deadhead, pull dead shrubs and weeds, uncover sprinkler heads covered by overgrowth, plant a new tree, and mulch.

Please bring pruners, hand clippers, hand saws, and shovels if you have them. Mulch is needed – if you know of a source for mulch please e-mail Leonardo.

At 12:30 there will be a potluck lunch (bring a dish and utensils if you can) and a Garden Group meeting. The Friends of the Library will provide pizza and drinks in the library meeting room at the end of the working time, 12:30 to 1:00 (the meeting room is needed for another event starting at 1:00 pm).

Calling all timebankers, gardening gurus, power tool heroes, particular pruners and shoveling superpeeps! The Hollywood Free Clinic needs a garden haircut and help with building a raised bed. Get your hats and gloves and favorite tools, it's time for another Barn-raising! We hope to see your community spirit on Sunday June 9th for some big projects: Pruning of trees (including cutting of large limbs), shrubs and palm fronds, building a raised bed for a vegetable garden and working compost into the planting area.
