Garden Group
The Arroyo S.E.C.O Network of Time Banks Garden Group serves to connect neighbors in our community with an interest in gardening, transforming our food systems, and learning new skills. We organize monthly barn raisings, seed & produce swaps, and potlucks. Importantly, we help to connect Time Bank members who have access to land which they would like to cultivate and gardeners who are interested in helping through a member database and short survey.
'Barn raising' is the Garden Group's term for community members working together on a large garden project - similar to how communities throughout history have come together to build a barn. The Garden Group gives time credits to Arroyo S.E.C.O Network of Time Banks. Members who help with the project, bring food for the potluck lunch, and/or play music. Barn raisings provide an opportunity to learn new gardening skills, trade gardening tips, and share best practices.
All Arroyo S.E.C.O Network of Time Banks members can access Garden Group resources! Time Bank members can visit: http://groups.google.com/group/tb-garden-group to join the Garden Group e-mail list, which is used to share information about events and the member database and also serves as a space for sharing garden-related questions, requests, and offers.
